ABSTRACT: This study examined The Role of Early Childhood Education in Promoting Human Rights Education. The objectives of this study were to: (1) evaluate the effectiveness of early childhood education (ECE) in promoting human rights awareness among young learners, (2) assess the impact of human rights education on children's attitudes towards justice and equality, and (3) determine the long-term benefits of integrating human rights education into ECE curricula. A survey design was employed to gather comprehensive data from educators, parents, and children about their experiences with human rights education in ECE settings. A sample size of 170 participants, including preschool teachers, parents, and children aged 4-6, was selected through purposive sampling. The case study was conducted in early childhood education centers in Abuja, Nigeria, given its role as the nation's capital and its focus on human rights advocacy. Findings revealed that ECE programs significantly improved children's awareness of human rights and promoted positive attitudes towards justice and equality, leading to more responsible citizenship in the long term. It was recommended that early childhood education centers integrate human rights education into their curricula and provide training for educators to effectively teach these concepts.
